PANTHER: Western senior Josh Everetts is well ahead of the pack in the 1,600-meter run during the Kokomo Sectional on Thursday at Walter Cross Field. Everetts won the 1,600 as part of a triple-winning performance in the meet.

• ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Everetts came up big in Western's charge to the Kokomo Sectional title. Individually, the IUPUI recruit won the 1,600 run (4:42.87) and 3,200 run (10:11.86). He also anchored the winning 4x800 relay team (8:31.90). In four sectional meets in his career, he was a three-time winner in the 3,200 run and a two-time winner in both the 1,600 and the 4x800. He also helped the Panthers win the 2014 title.
