WESTERN THREE-WAY

West Lafayette finished first with a score of 78 in Tuesday’s meet. Harrison followed with 51.5 and Western finished with 36.5

Tyler Gilbert took first in the discus with a 131-11 throw for the Panthers, while Cameron Dessing set a new school record with a 39.94 first-place finish in the 300 hurdles.

Going up against West Lafayette brings out the best in a lot of people,” Western coach Gary Jewell said. “It’s a goal he’s had since last year when he went to state. His real goal is to get back to state and get a podium finish.

Jewell also noted that Josh Scott broke 11:00 in the 3,200, breaking his personal best by :25, and that the Panthers had 47 season bests on the day.
