BOYS TRACK - Western 98, Northwestern 34

Western was led by senior triple winner Aaron VanAuken, who won the 110 hurdles (:15.8), the long jump (19-6) and the high jump (5-10).

Junior Garrett Welker took top honors in the 200 in 23.6 sec­onds, the pole vault with a jump of 11 -6, and ran a leg of victori­ous 1,600 relay team (3:40) with Lucas Luckey, Jacob Hopkins and Andrew Rodgers.

Austin Young took blue in the 800 (2:08.2) and the 1600 (4:47.9), and was part of the victorious 3,200 relay team (9:51.9) with Ben Bradshaw, Kyle Stanch and Chris Love.

Other winners for the Panthers included Rodgers (400, :54.9), Trevor Buckalew (discus, 127-6), Indy Mathew (300 hurdles, :43.2) and Riley Worl (3,200,11:16.0).

Andy Hunkeler (shot put, 44-10) and Corey Rupert (100,11.2) took home victories for the Tigers.


GIRLS TRACK - Northwestern 74, Western 55

Courtney Silvey won the 100 hurdles (17.7) and the 300 hur­dles (54.0) as the host Tigers scored a win over a county rival. Allie Combs won the discus at 90 feet, 4 inches. Kylie Ballard and Steph Colter tied for top honors in high jump at 5-0. Kara DeFabritis won the long jump at 15-61/2 And Hannah Ault won the 1,600 (6:33.8).

Northwestern swept the relays. The 3,200 relay team of Andrea Myers, Britanny Jocius, Heidi Freeman and Ault won in 11:18. The 400 relay team of Elise Cobb, Addie Dubbels, Bal­lard and Amanda Kuffel won in 53.98. the 1,600 relay team of Cobb, Kuffel, Ault and Rachel Lowden won in 4:00.3.

"The relay teams did real well," NW coach Mary Clem said. "The field event people are really coming around with their scores, and for the girls to stay focused before spring break, that's always a plus."

Junior Allison Everetts won the pole vault (8-0) and the 400 (1:04.5) to lead the Panthers.

Other winners for Western included Alleca Kerker (100, :13.1), Breanna Cable (shot put, 36-2), Corianne Myer (800, 2:48), Jennifer Dale (200, :27.9), Bre Nicholas (3,200,13:57).
