Western 100, Northwestern 32

The Panthers showed their depth in winning all but two of the 16 events.

Aaron Van Auken, Ryan Elmore, Brad DiCarlo, Chrisoffer Kun, Nathan Keaton, Chris Love and Dalton Head were all double winners for Western.

Van Auken was tops in the 110-meter hurdles (:17.7) and 300 hurdles (:46.8). Elmore won the 100 dash (11.3). DiCarlo came out on top in the 400 dash (:54.2). Kun was tops in the 200 dash (:23.8). Keaton won in the 1,600 run (5:31.9). Love placed first in the 800 run (2:14.6) and Head won in the high jump (510).

Elmore and Kun joined Trent Lawlyes and Indy Mathew to win the 400 relay (:46.0). Keaton and Love teamed up with Nikhil Sharma and Nitin Sharma to win the 3,200 relay (9:54) and Head, Love, and DiCarlo joined Tyler Graves to win the 1,600 relay (3:50.5).

"Elmore has been a good sprinter, and he got a chance to show what he can do in the 100 and 200," Western coach Marvin Boswell said. "The 200 came down with the same time, and they gave Kun first place, and Elmore was right there for second place. I was also happy with Van Auken's efforts, and he was also second in the high jump. It was kind of nice to see the guys get a chance [Tuesday]."

Western 74, Northwestern 58

The Western Panthers won 10 of the 16 events, and that turned out to be the winning margin.

Danae Rittmann, Lizi Chandler and Kayla Gaskins were double winners for Western. Rittmann won in the 100-meter dash (:13.1) and 200 dash (:28.2). Chandler was tops in the shot put (34 feet, 5.5 inches) and discus (104-8). Gaskins was tops in the 800 run (2:44.3), and Shelby Spall, Jessica Norfleet and Kelsey Durr joined Gaskins to win the 1,600 relay (4:49.7).

Other winners for Western were Taylor Ruch (100 hurdles, :17.3), Corianne Myer (1,600 run, 6:20.4), Ashley Gaskins (3,200 run, 13:25.4) and Nikki McCracken (pole vault, 9-6).

"We tried to rest most of the star athletes," Western coach Marvin Boswell said. "Northwestern also rested a lot of theirs. It gave our second, third and fourth runners a chance to run in a varsity meet. Ruch had a personal record in the 100 hurdles, and Chandler continues to shine in both the shot put and discus."
